We believe any such help should be conditioned on, among other things, the industry’s willingness to retool and produce far more fuel-efficient cars. "If automakers are forced by law to build the types of vehicles that California and a few other states demand then those same states should absolutely be forced by law to buy any of those unsold vehicles (at full price) each year. Another solution would be for those states to manufacture their own autos to suit their own needs.
